Gain Real, Actionable Knowledge
Equalize Digital is more than an accessibility audit and remediation company. We build training into our Audit to CertificationTM process to help ensure that your organization does not repeat costly mistakes and puts its best foot forward in maintaining an inclusive digital presence. Our goal is not just to be your remediators, but to be your teachers so that by the end of our engagement you’ll have a solid understanding of website accessibility basics. We want you to be empowered to enter new content on your website or create new designs in an accessible manner.
All Equalize Digital projects – from audits and remediation, to new website builds – includes website accessibility training for content managers and designers. If you have a developer on your team who needs training, we can provide that as well.
In addition to providing training for clients, our team also frequently speaks at conferences and virtual events, and we offer one-off personalized training sessions customized for your team or organization.

Accessibility Training FAQ
By providing a solid foundation across the three core aspects of web accessibility — the technical, the legal, and the end-user experience — we can set your team up for long-term success in improving and maintaining accessibility compliance in-house. Our training sessions are highly customizable so that our experts can meet you wherever you are on the path towards understanding accessibility.
Deliverables include:
- Customized instruction on the topics relevant to your organization.
- Downloadable slides and reference materials.
- In the case of virtual training, we can include a recording of the training session for future reference at no additional charge.
- Q&A with an accessibility expert.
Our accessibility training services typically take place via video conference or in a webinar format, both of which allow for the sharing of supporting information via slides and video. In-person training options are also available, as are workshops and individual one-on-one tutorial sessions.
If you’re interested in receiving accessibility training, please fill out the inquiry form, above, and a team member will get in touch with you. We’ll schedule a time for a call to discuss your exact needs, timeline, and pricing. Once the details are ironed out, we’ll spend time preparing and supporting materials that may be needed to make the most of your training session. During the training session, there will be plenty of time to answer questions and we’re typically available to answer additional questions via email following the session. At the conclusion of your session, you’ll receive any video recordings, notes, slides, and/or reference materials via email.
The length of your accessibility training will depend on the size of your organization, as well as the format that you choose (either live video, webinar, or in-person) and the topic(s) to be covered.
A single session covering one more “broad” topic (e.g. Getting Started with Website Accessibility) lasts roughly 60-90 minutes, allowing for a healthy amount of Q&A. For conferences and events, we tend to prefer longer time slots, however we can present interesting case studies or cover “top accessibility mistakes” in lightening talks of 10-15 minutes.
For total accessibility training — where we cover the basics of every aspect of accessibility and try to impart a working knowledge of managing compliance — we recommend setting aside 2-3 days for your team to attend multiple sessions, each covering a different topic.
All of our remediation packages and monitoring packages at the “Standard” level and above include some regular time for strategy meetings and training. These sessions can be with one point person or with everyone who is involved in managing your website. These training sessions typically take the form of live tutorials or working sessions where we walk you through specific accessibility items on your site or in your documents. They take place over Zoom, are usually an hour long, and can be recorded.
You are welcome to request specific items to cover in advance of the calls, but we also typically come to these sessions with a specific list of items we would like to cover. Generally, these items are things that we see as frequent errors on your specific site. For example, if we notice that many images on your website are missing alt tags, in our next meeting, we’ll discuss what alt tags are, how to write good ones, and show you how to add them in your website.
Yes. We’re happy to provide accessibility training and consulting to other marketing agencies and WordPress theme or plugin developers. We strongly believe in making the internet a more accessible place and love having the opportunity to provide training and recommendations to free and commercial themes and plugins.
