WordPress Accessibility Meetup: Six Levels of A11Y Maturity: Know Where You Are to Know Where You Are Going with Nick Croft on Thursday, June 6 at 10 AM Central.

Accessibility is such a large topic that teams can be overwhelmed by the possibilities. They don’t know where to focus efforts and often try hard to make accessible spaces, but don’t have a solid plan that will lead to accomplishing their goals. This talk will break down the journey into six stages, with clear descriptions of each stage and practical steps to move from one stage to the next. Find out where you are and chart where you will go.

These meetups take place via Zoom and are live captioned. You must register to attend via Zoom.

About Nick Croft

Nick “the Geek” Croft has been developing with WordPress for over a decade. Today he is a senior developer for Reaktiv Studios, a WordPress VIP Partner. He has created several plugins for WordPress.org mostly using the Genesis framework as well as custom work for clients and his employer.

Nick is the author of the Genesis Explained, a book that focuses on Genesis theme framework. He has completed his Web Accessibility Specialists (WAS), Certified Professional In Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA), and 508 Trusted Tester certifications. Lately, he has focused on writing highly efficient code, automating all the things, improving in Javascript and React, security, and accessibility. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, 4 children, and a puppy and lives on a quiet cul de sac in the Shenandoah Valley. He also enjoys home improvement projects, hiking, and river activities.
