In recent years, low-code tools and site builders have democratized web development. However, achieving accessibility remains challenging due to the balance between simplicity and accessibility. Builderius is a visual builder dedicated to addressing the accessibility challenge and continuously learning as time progresses. Builderius’ three-stage approach will guide efforts in creating more accessible websites.
Builderius prioritizes giving users complete control over the HTML language, allowing access to any HTML element or its attributes. This empowers users to fully control the DOM structure and prioritize accessibility.
Builderius’ aim is to make advanced modules, interactive features, and layouts accessible by default. This entails implementing accessibility features and adhering to standards, ensuring users can confidently utilize these features. The future plans are to add audits within the interface to empower users to build accessible websites. With helpful hints, warnings, and pointers, it would guide the identification of common accessibility mistakes, fostering the creation of better websites.

These meetups take place via Zoom and are live captioned. You must register via Zoom to attend.

About Elvis Krstulović

Elvis is a designer and a design educator. Since 2011, he’s worked on web experiences for art and education organizations and taught graphic and interactive design to BA and MA students since 2013.

Elvis joined the Builderius team in December 2022 to help improve its user interface while maintaining its power and flexibility. Over his design and development career, he has seen how an innovative tool can change the way we work.
