Downloading and Installing BoardScribe

This article outlines the minimum requirements (PHP and WordPress versions) for installing BoardScribe, as well as the instructions for downloading and installing the plugin.

Minimum Requirements

PHP Version

BoardScribe requires PHP 7.4 or above. You can ask your host how to upgrade your PHP version if you’re unsure how to do so.

WordPress Version

BoardScribe requires WordPress 6.7 or above.

Downloading BoardScribe

BoardScribe can be downloaded free from WordPress.org. Or, you can follow the “Automatic Installation” instructions below and install the plugin via WordPress admin plugin search without downloading.

Note: If you use Safari, the file may be automatically unzipped upon download. If this happens, you will need to re-zip it to install on your website.

Installing BoardScribe

Automatic Installation

Automatic installation is the easiest way to install BoardScribe. You can do this without needing to download the plugin files. Follow these steps to install BoardScribe on your website:

1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
2. Go to the plugins page and select “Add Plugin”.
3. In the keyword search box towards the right of the screen, search “BoardScribe”.
4. On the tile for the BoardScribe plugin, click “Install Now”.
5. After the plugin is installed, click the “Activate” button.

Manual Installation (Developers)

Follow these instructions if you have downloaded the BoardScribe plugin from WordPress.org and want to upload it via SFTP.

1. Download the plugin from WordPress.org.
2. Unzip the boardscribe.zip file on your computer.
3. Upload the unzipped boardscribe folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory on your website via FTP.
4. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
5. Go to the plugins page and click “Activate” on BoardScribe in your plugins list.
