Learning Outcomes:
- Know what an Accessibility Support Policy is.
- Understand what an Accessibility Support Policy should include and how to draft one.
- Learn how to communicate your Accessibility Support Policy to your support staff.
- Get ideas for how to create your own Accessibility Support Training and what it should include (e.g. why does accessibility matter in support, legal requirements, types of disabilities, categories of disabilities, assistive technologies, accessible communication practices, accommodation requests, how to handle issues, respectful language and tone, examples and scenarios).
These meetups take place via Zoom and are live captioned. You must register to attend via Zoom.
About the Speaker
Donata Stroink-Skillrud is an attorney licensed in Illinois and a Certified Information Privacy Professional. She is the President and Legal Engineer behind Termageddon, LLC, a software as a service that has generated tens of thousands of website policies and kept them up to date with changing legislation. Donata is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, Board Member of the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative and Chair of the ABA’s ePrivacy Committee.
